Objective: MIG welding, or Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), is a welding method that uses a special electrode and gas to create strong welds. It’s used in many areas like cars, construction, making things, building ships, airplanes, general crafting, fixing things, farming, pipelines, and even for fun DIY projects. People like MIG welding because it’s easy, versatile, and works well on different types of metal.
Our mission with our Youth Welding Club is to spark enthusiasm for creativity and craftsmanship among 6th-12th graders, emphasizing project-based, hands-on learning in MIG welding. We are committed to creating a dynamic and safe environment where young minds can delve into the art and science of MIG welding, cultivate essential skills in teamwork and problem-solving, and establish a foundation for future success. By nurturing a culture of curiosity, innovation, and collaboration, our club seeks to empower the next generation with practical MIG welding skills, instilling confidence and fostering a lifelong appreciation for the world of metalworking.
