The Latinas Welding Guild catalog is a student’s official record of programs and courses. The catalog is updated annually by LWG Leadership and staff each fall semester the new catalog goes into effect the following Spring. All information and course schedules are subject to change in the interest of the organization and students.

ADULT COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:
LEVEL 1 COURSES
INTRO TO GAS METAL ARC (GMAW/MIG) WELDING
Eligibility: All Women (18+ Ages)
Tuition: $3,500 per students – limited scholarships available!
Program: 40 Hours | 5 weeks | Twice a Week
Days: Mondays & Wednesdays | 5:30PM – 9:00PM
Objective: In this introductory course to Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) students will learn welding theory while getting applied training of welding in various positions. Students will focus on production welding with the end goal of workplace readiness.

CO-ED INTRO TO GAS METAL ARC (GMAW/MIG) WELDING BOOTCAMP
Eligibility: All Adults (18+ Ages)
Tuition: $3,500 per students – limited scholarships available!
Program: 40 Hours | 2 weeks | 10 Days
Days: Mondays – Fridays | 5:30PM – 9:00PM
Objective: Students will learn welding theory while getting applied training in preparation for their GMAW / MIG certification test. After students take the certification tests they will have the opportunity to get a quick demonstration on GTAW/ TIG and SMAW/Stick welding. By obtaining the 2F GMAW certification this will help them get their foot in the door with local employers who we are seeking new talent!

LEVEL 2 COURSES
INTRO TO GAS TUNGSTEN ARC (GTAW/TIG) WELDING
Eligibility:
- Level 1: Intro to MIG Graduate (Women 18+ ages)with 2F GMAW Certification
- Level 1: Intro to MIG Co-ed Bootcamp Graduates (Adults 18+ ages) with 2F GMAW Certification
Tuition: $4,500 per students – limited scholarship available!
Program: 40 Hours | 5 weeks | Twice a Week
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 5:30PM – 9PM
Objective: This course is designed as an introductory course to TIG Welding. Students will learn welding theory while getting applied training of welding in various positions on various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Students will focus on production welding with the end goal of workplace readiness. In the field, TIG applications include welding stainless in the food industry; stainless, aluminum, titanium, and magnesium in the aircraft and aerospace industry; alloys in race car frames; and mild steel on pressure vessels. For the home hobby welder and artist, TIG is great for sculptures and other projects. Hobbyists and artists generally use mild steel, stainless, aluminum, and, to a lesser extent, copper.

INTRO TO SHIELDED METAL ARC (SMAW/STICK) WELDING
Eligibility:
- Level 1: Intro to MIG Graduate (Women 18+ ages)with 2F GMAW Certification
- Level 1: Intro to MIG Co-ed Bootcamp Graduates (Adults 18+ ages) with 2F GMAW Certification

Objective: This Intro to Stick class is a great starting point to learn some basics and receive an industry recognized certification upon successful completion of the class. “Introduction to SMAW” covers the basic theories and practices of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), as well as common operational procedures.

INTRO TO BLUEPRINT READING

Objective: This class builds off of our Intro to Welding class to teach students how to prepare material, put together a cut list, assemble and weld up a small project. The hands-on exercises in this class are used as workforce development and will show them some beginning steps to start a potential product line.

YOUTH PROGRAMMING
YOUTH CLUBS & CAMPS:
Eligibility:
No Prerequisites | 2 Weeks | 9AM-4:00PM
A good candidate for out two week youth welding program is someone who is interested in STEM, enjoys working with their hands, is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, curious, creative, and has good hand-eye coordination are welcomed to apply!
Middle School Students:

Building a future together!
We aim to introduce young people to the basics of welding and metalworking in a safe and engaging environment!
The goals of a year-round youth welding camps and clubs will include:
- Providing hands-on experience: Our camp aims to provide participants with an opportunity to work with welding equipment and tools in a supervised and supportive setting.
- Developing skills: Our camp aims to help participants develop skills in MIG welding and metalworking that they can use to pursue a career or hobby in the future.

- Encouraging creativity: Our camp aims to encourage participants to explore their creativity and develop their problem-solving skills by working on projects that require design and fabrication.
- Building confidence: Our camp aims to help participants build confidence in their abilities by providing positive feedback and guidance from experienced instructors.
- Fostering teamwork: Our camp aims to encourage participants to work collaboratively with their peers on projects, developing their communication and interpersonal skills.
